SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC pushed its unbeaten streak to seven matches with a 2-1 grind out win over Sacramento Republic FC in front of 5,676 fans at Toyota Field on Saturday night.

Why it matters: SAFC extended its unbeaten streak to seven matches across all competitions while staying atop the Western Conference standings.

The big picture: Saturday night at Toyota Field showcased both sides of San Antonio FC's progress over the 2026 season: an aggressive attack that struck twice before halftime and a tough backline that pressured Sacramento in the second half.

  • Christian Sorto opened the scoring in the 27th minute after finishing off an assist from Dmitrii Erofeev.
  • Erofeev added a goal of his own six minutes later, giving San Antonio a the 2-0 halftime lead.
  • Sacramento answered in the 55th minute, forcing SAFC into a tense final stretch.

What they're saying: SAFC Head coach Carlos Llamosa praised his team’s balanced attack after the match.

  • We’re happy and pleased, but as I said before the game, this is a tough team to play against in Sacramento,” Llamosa said. “The good thing here is we kept the lead, we defended well to the end and we got the three points against a good team, especially at home.”

By the numbers:

  • SAFC has now gone seven straight matches unbeaten across all competitions.
  • The club scored multiple goals for the second consecutive match.
  • San Antonio created several chances through high pressure and turnovers, something Llamosa said has become a growing strength.

Zoom in: Llamosa pointed to the club’s attacking press as the catalyst behind both goals.

  • He said Erofeev nearly added another goal after hitting the crossbar in the second half following another forced turnover by San Antonio's defense.
  • The coach also credited the squad’s defensive discipline after Sacramento increased the pressure late.

“We scored two goals, and we created three good opportunities to score more goals,” Llamosa said. “Our offensive side is being progressed.”

What’s next: San Antonio FC begins a month-long road trip on Wednesday against Sporting Jacksonville. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT.
